anna william, a home and handbag boutique, opened its doors in Newburyport, Massachusetts on May 29, 2003 with its first two handbag styles, the "andover" and the "beacon hill". Unique, one-of-a-kind handbags are the moniker of our "family affair", created as a collaboration between two sisters, our sister-in-law, and our mom!

Why a boutique and why now, you might ask? We have always wanted to open a store on the East Coast and the timing seemed perfect: we each had a desire for a different career and we wanted to do something that would appeal to the fun side of women like us! Although each of us brings something unique to the business, be it design or customer service or business savvy, it was our shared love of pretty handbags and obsession with fine fabrics that inspired us to open anna william.

We like to think that each anna william customer purchases a beautifully handmade, high-quality handbag that reflects a style all her own. And what's more, with eighteen different styles and over 150 fabrics to choose from, a handbag can be designed for each season or each outfit!
