In 2003, Rani Chace and three family members were forerunners in a newly popular niche industry. The retail concept that the four women developed offers customers the fun of creating one-of-a-kind handbags, at a reasonable cost. Their two anna william boutiques feature over 18 functional and pretty bag styles to choose from, named after local places, such as the pocketed "Harvard Tote." In textiles like tweed and ribbed cotton, a dizzying array of color and texture options is available. Customers design the bag which is then handmade to their specifications. There is also a selection of ready-mades. Private parties can be booked at either location.
